Adapt to Globalization
Over the past 500 years, the population of humans on Earth has grown from half a billion, to 6 and a half billion. Technology, the global market place, and powerful corporations are thriving and have given rise to a more globally connected planet. These powerful forces have also introduced new environmental and social problems on a global scale. The solution to this global crisis, is a shift in consumer and business decision making.
The Global Defense Collective I propose would consist of prestigious intellects, and respected thinkers from different cultures of the Earth. This round table of great thinkers would come to ethical and environmental decisions on how humans should live in the 21st century. The goal of the Global Defense Collective is to protect life on Earth for over thousands of year. The organization will use education to promoting green business, and boycotting business that harm the Earth.
The Global Defense Collective would be able to certify individuals and business that are aware of global issues, and are actively involved in decision making that prolong life on Earth. An individual or business can become certified by first being educated on the major issues of our time. Second the individual or business will need to pass a multiple choice test that addresses the major global issues. If an individual answers a question that the Global Defense Collective does not agree with, the individual would be given educational material, and will be given an opportunity to answer the question again. Thirdly, the individual or business will voluntarily agree to choose to live by the ethics presented by the Global Defense Collective. Businesses that are certified by the Global Defense Collective will be required to pay a nominal fee, and would be able to display the Globally Certified Logo for the public to see. Globally certified intelligent people will naturally support Globally Certified businesses over heartless self centered businesses.
Globally certified individuals and businesses would be educated in a variety of topics such as: Population regulation, voter turnout, environmentalism, diet, garbage, pollution, and destructive market trends. Earth conscious businesses will be promoted, while destructive heartless corporations will be boycotted or avoided. Certified individuals and people will need to be re-certified each year.
The Global Defense Collective could potentially unite the planet with wisdom, and promote decision making that prolongs life on planet Earth. As each individual realizes that by being educated about the current issues, they can do there part in to protect the planet. As the words of Franklin D. Roosevelt: "The structure of world peace cannot be the work of one man or one party or one nation. It must be a peace which rests on the cooperative effort of the whole world."
